Milton Resource Recovery Center

Announcing Burnham’s new organic waste to RNG project in Milton, Pennsylvania

The Milton Resource Recovery Center (MRRC) is an innovative partnership between Burnham and the Milton Regional Sewer Authority (MRSA) to transform MRSA’s wastewater treatment plant into a Resource Recovery Center. The MRRC is centrally located in Pennsylvania and provides a sustainable and cost-effective outlet for organic material from Philadelphia to State College.

Reclaiming Resources in the Mid Atlantic: The project features two existing 7.5-million-gallon BVF digesters capable of receiving significant volumes of biosolids, fats, oils, and grease (FOG), and solid/liquid food waste. The biogas produced from the process will be collected and converted into pipeline quality renewable natural gas (RNG). Burnham will deliver the project with no upfront cost to MRSA and provide consistent cash flows via a royalty payment.

Moving Beyond Waste: Burnham is actively developing partnerships with regional generators, brokers, and haulers seeking a sustainable alternative to current disposal facilities. We view haulers as our partners and strive to offer a customer friendly experience. The central PA-based facility is equipped to handle both solid (trailers) and liquid (pumpable) organic waste streams (food processing and FOG). It has two truck bays, low turn times, and robust security. Receiving hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am-5 pm; and Saturday to Sunday 7:00 am -12:00pm. Additional hours may be available upon request. Contact us today for additional information.
